STEAM Girls is an education opportunity for girls in Vermont to experience the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. It is a partnership between Middlebury College students and the town to engage with local youth and increase exposure and confidence in girls, surrounding STEM at an early age. Its mission is realized through summer camps and more recently an after-school program for elementary and middle school girls in Addison County.
As a Computer Science major, I enjoy creating and developing. I am content when working through a problem, dicing through the details and designing a solution. Following a project through the end by controlling all the moving parts allows me to exercise my organization and problem-solving skills while expressing creativity. What more can an arts and technology enthusiast want than the ability to be analytical but also free in creative thought.
